Following your bliss is not self-indulgent, but vital; your whole physical system knows that this is the way to be alive in this world and the way to give to the world the very best that you have to offer. There IS a track just waiting for each of us and once on it, doors will open that were not open before and would not open for anyone else. - Joseph Campell

Who am I?

Last week I did an over the phone class with Jenna called Your Creative Next Steps. It was really good, but I haven't had time review what we went over in depth.  I decided to break it down into small sections, and talk about it here.  The class included an assessment that asked very specific probing questions.  An awesome tool to dig deep into why I am a writer, and how can I be the best writer I can be.  I say that not in the vein of fame & fortune, but rather in the day to day.  That's where it all really matters, putting word to page.

I said before that it was a huge deal for me to even say I was a writer, you know, like out loud.  It is getting easier.  I guess the next level is what do I want to do and achieve as a writer.  How do I fit into the world as a writer?  I have about 15 or so stories in my head.  They are all so very different.  I don't see them as having any real common thread.  In that respect  I don't see myself as a "brand".  I just want to tell my stories, and hopefully someone will want to read them (maybe even pay to read them).  That's why I am so excited about self publishing. It allows such freedom.

Who am I as writer is a really difficult question.  I'm not sure I know yet.  I think it may be too early to say.  It is something I am definitely marinating on.
