Okay, these two are a dream together.  I have to say that they are one of those un-couples, like Ryan and Sandra, where you just have to say, "Why are you not together?!!"  They are so damn cute!!  500 Days of Summer was a gift I will always cherish, an absolute delight.  Like all of my favourite onscreen couples each is a favourite of mine on their own, but lightening just happens when they team up with their ultimate counter part.  Joe and Zooey have worked together a few times now, and I can only hope that there is more togetherness in their future.  Oh pretty please :o)

Ryan Reynolds & Sandra Bullock

The heavens surely did open up and shine down on me when I first read that Sandra and Ryan were going to do a movie together.  The Mark and Julianne freak out was topped only by the Sandra and Ryan freak out.  My first thought was how perfect their comic timing would be.  Turns out not only are they gorgeous together, but they are completely in sync.  Again, two people who clearly enjoy each others company.  They really need to make another movie, actually a trilogy would be perfect.

Alan Rickman & Emma Thompson

I am beginning to sound like a broken record here, but again two of my favourite actors, blah blah blah.  (Acutally, Emma is one of my idols.  I love her!!)  First off, I love that Emma and Alan are such good friends, and so obviously enjoy working together.  Love Actually is one of my favourites, and is a great annual tradition.  Emma was heartbreaking in it.  So good!!  I am so excited to see The Song of Lunch.  I understand it is different, and not everyone has bought into it. I am anxious to see it anyway.

One film they did together that I love is Judas Kiss.  They weren't romantic partners, but rather detective partners.  You could tell they were having a blast together playing these two well seasoned Southern detectives.  Great fun!!

Lastly, I just had to say that I just recently re-watched Sense & Sensibility, and had forgotten how much I had wanted Hugh Grant and Alan to have switched rolls.  Even back then I wanted to see Emma and Alan together.  Alan really was a perfect Col. Brandon though. I guess they knew what they were doing.

Mark Ruffalo & Julianne Moore

Again, two actors who I adore, and will watch do anything.  Here's a little history, a few years ago I was bouncing around the internet, and I saw that they were going to do a film together. This film was Blindness.  I freaked out.  I was beyond excited, and they were playing a married couple to boot.  Now, I liked Blindness. I might be one of the few people who did, but it was not the Mark and Julianne vehicle I was hoping for.  Nope, not at all.  Then came The Kids Are Alright, yeah again not exactly what I had in mind. Closer though.  Maybe the third time'll be the charm? 

It is interesting that I have a really specific type of story in mind.  Something fiercely dramatic (cause you know they can both go there), but romatic at the same time (cause you know they can go there too).  I want to see a movie where a couple's love gets ripped to shreads, but they fight to repair it and win.  Um, yeah. Somebody make that movie, and let Mark and Julianne star in it. :oP

This week I am going to spotlight five of my favourite onscreen couples.   Just for fun.  :o)

Stanley Tucci & Patricia Clarkson

Going to start with two of my favourite actors who have worked together a time or two, but only a couple of times portraying a couple.  I loved Tucci and Patty playing dream parents in Easy A.  Talk about scene stealers, crazy fun.  They also did Blind Date together, which Tucci directed, and I really liked.  The film was just the two of them, too much to ask for.  I will watch these two do anything, but it is a true delight when they share the screen together.
