Following your bliss is not self-indulgent, but vital; your whole physical system knows that this is the way to be alive in this world and the way to give to the world the very best that you have to offer. There IS a track just waiting for each of us and once on it, doors will open that were not open before and would not open for anyone else. - Joseph Campell

Notre Dame

I have been slowly putting up pictures on Instagram.  I took a couple of thousand pictures when I went to Europe in 2010.  I've had a terrible time organizing them.  I actually want to make a coffee table book, just another thing on my to-do list.

Although I didn't have the best time in France, I did see some incredibly beautiful things, Notre Dame being one of  them.  I really liked how these shots turned out.  I used the Lo-Fi filter.  They look pretty cool.  The first shot is of the front, of course, the second is of a side door, and the third is of the back.  The back was actually a really pretty park.  I loved the spires on the back side as well.

Historical factoids (courtesy of Wiki):

  • Notre Dame de Paris = Our Lady of Paris
  • French Gothic Architecture
  • Construction was started in 1163 and completed in 1345

weather progression

The weather got worse as the week wore on.  I took some photos on the walk I take at lunch.

Fingers!!!

I was just over at Camera Obscura's site (love the new look), and saw The Fingers, that's what I call them.  I have no idea why. LOL  I stood on this beach in Vik Iceland.  One of the craziest most wonderful days of my life.  It is a truly beautiful spot that I hope to return to at some point in my life.  :o)

Here's one of my shots at the same spot.  The black beach is so beautiful.

dweebie

I've made it how many months now without posting a picture of my cat?  Today is apparently the day.  My cat, Dweeb (there's a story), is 130 days away from being 19 years-old, and about 130 years-old in cat years.  She's turned into a cranky old broad, to say the least, but I still love her.  I'm hoping she'll make it to 20.  I have a countdown app on my phone marking her 19th birthday.  Not sure if that means I have no life, or I'm overly obssessed with my cat?  Probably both.  =)

snow day part deux

I risked life and limb and possible damage to my car to drive into work today.  I snapped a couple of shots while going across the street to Safeway for lunch.  There were actual icicles on the building!!  So cool.  Staying home tomorrow.  Not doing that again.

snow day

Took this photo earlier today.  Tomorrow is a holiday, and am loving that I am housebound for a couple of days.
