Following your bliss is not self-indulgent, but vital; your whole physical system knows that this is the way to be alive in this world and the way to give to the world the very best that you have to offer. There IS a track just waiting for each of us and once on it, doors will open that were not open before and would not open for anyone else. - Joseph Campell

Predictable Oscar?

Is it just me or are the Oscars shaping up to be a completely predictable evening?   There may be some upsets, but here's how I see it going down.

Best Picture - Argo

When I posted about wanting Argo to win Best Picture I really thought it was a long shot, now not so much.

Best Actor - Daniel Day-Lewis

I would love to see either Hugh Jackman or Joaquin Phoenix win, but I highly doubt that will happen. I was happy for Hugh that he got the Globe, but honestly they don't carry much weight for me.  I mean if Madonna can win?  I think this is going to be number three for Mr. Day-Lewis.

Best Actress - Jennifer Lawrence

I already posted about this.  I am afraid that Jennifer is going to win.  Naomi is one of my favourite actresses and would love for her to win.  Jennifer has been sweeping the awards though.  I hope it doesn't mean it is all down hill from here.  She's only 22!!

Best Supporting Actor - Christoph Waltz

I think this may be an Oscar first, that every actor nominated for Best Supporting Actor has already won.  In a word . . . BORING.  I'd like to see Tommy Lee Jones win just because he's my favourite actor on the list, but I don't think it will happen.

Best Supporting Actress - Anne Hathaway

Pretty much a done deal for Anne.  I am a HUGE fan, and totally think she deserves it.  However, I also love Amy Adams.  This is nomination number four for her.  I hope she wins someday, just not this year.

Best Director - David O Russell

Boy the Academy really messed this one up not nominating Ben.  Just a guess, but I think the DGA award means as much to him.  Since Ben isn't nominated it really is up in the air.  I am going out on a limb with David.  It would be cool if he won.

Best Original Screenplay - Quentin Tarantino

I think Quentin's got a good shot for this one, but it would be really cool if Wes & Roman won for Moonrise Kingdom.  They could take it right out from under him.

Best Adapted Screenplay - Chris Terrio

My thinking is Argo could get this.  It could go to David for Silver Linings Playbook, but I think he'll get director instead.
