I finally just finished watching North & South. It was good, but it was really just Pride & Prejudice. Everything I liked about it is what I love about Pride & Prejudice. Margaret is not nearly as likable a character as Lizzy, and Thornton takes a lot longer to warm up to than Darcy. Netflix's accumulative rating is 4.5, but I'd say it is more a 4. The supporting characters and the back drop weren't as likable for me. I guess I just love Pride & Prejudice too much, and it can't help but fall short in comparison. I am glad I finally watched it though. Cranford is definitely the superior story of the two Gaskell adaptations I've seen. I really love Cranford, it has such a wonderful cast of characters.
