So, I just watched Stephen King's Bag of Bones. Little back story, I bought
the book when it came out all those years ago. I have a serious problem finishing books. I
started it, but of course never finished it. It sat on the kitchen bar of my
old apartment for quite a few years. Anyway, it is streaming on Netflix so I
decided to watch it
Pierce Brosnan was really good, and boy he put everything into it. I really liked him as Mike. I was right there with him as a writer struggling with writer's block after the death of his wife. What was haunting me personally, pun intended, was that I have a screenplay (how original, I know) that I am struggling to write. The thing is that I totally picture Pierce as one of the characters. Spooky, I tell ya. So yeah, the movie was really good actually. It is both entertaining and inspiring, inspiring me to move my butt and write something!!
One other thing I wanted to mention was how cool it was that William Schallert played Max Devore. Mr. Schallert is a character actor, for lack of a better description, that I have loved for a long time. I IMDb’d him and turns out he’s been acting for 65 years. That is amazing!!! Not only to survive in Hollywood that long, but to still be working at 90 years old. Truly amazing, and he was so good too.
Anyway, one of the better King adaptations, I really did enjoy it. I was engrossed up till the end. It was a little cheesy in spots, but not that bad really. I gave it four stars.
