art history moment

I came across this amazing shot of the Rape of the Sabine Women by Giambologna.  Such a stunning angle.  This is one of my favourite sculptures, and one I am happy to say I got to see in person many years ago.  It evokes such energy, and you have this need to encircle it, taking in every angle.  It never ceases to amaze me that sculptors can make stone look like flesh.  Yeah, whoever took this shot did good.  =)
